- Ljubliana International Policy Conference22 Oct 2019
On 17 October 2019, the network took part in an international conference hosted by member organisation ZIPS in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The high-level event focused on the disability movement in Slovenia and the progress made in the country towards inclusive employment of persons with disabilities. It was opened by a keynote speech by Dejan Židan, speaker of the National Assembly of Slovenia and leader of the Slovenian Social Democratic Party.

In December 2019, the European Platform for Rehabilitation (EPR) hosted its annual Public Affairs Event “A tool for Active Inclusion of People with Disabilities - Social Economy Employment Models”.

The D-WISE Network project will participate at the European Social Economy Summit on 26-27 May 2021 in Mannheim, Germany. We will present the results of our project so far and policy recommendations during a joint stakeholder session with other European projects and organizations from the Social Economy sector.

On 16 and 17 June 2020, Fundación ONCE hosted an online seminar to present to the other partners some experiences of a Spanish company employing persons with disabilities (with specific examples from employment facilities of ILUNION), to discuss the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis on the European Social Economy sector and compare best practices and lessons learned, as well as to communicate on the results of the project research and work so far and to prepare the upcoming policy recommendation

The D-WISE Network welcomes the European Commission’s review of the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER), recognising it as a cornerstone for enabling inclusive employment across the EU. As a key instrument for supporting the employment of persons with disabilities, the GBER has provided legal certainty and financial tools that empower employers to invest in accessibility, reasonable accommodation, and long-term support.
- A major milestone for the recognition of D-WISEs as alternative employment models for persons with disabilities09 May 2025
On 16 April 2025, the European Commission published its long-awaited Study on Alternative Employment Models for Persons with Disabilities.
